Rep. Rick Mirabito

District 83

Biography

First-term representative Rick Mirabito was born in Sea Cliff, New York. His father passed away two days after Rick was born, leaving his mother to raise five small children on her own. She worked as a schoolteacher, instilling in Rick and his siblings the values he has embraced all his life --- hard work, honesty, and integrity.

Rick worked his way through Cornell University, and later attended Boston College Law School, where he was editor-in-chief of the International & Comparative Law Review. He graduated with numerous prestigious honors.

Rick first came to Williamsport in 1989 to work as his law clerk. He quickly came to love rural Pennsylvania, so much so that he invested in renovating many substandard buildings in the Williamsport area. Many of these improved buildings are now rented to students of the Pennsylvania College of Technology. Rick's business has created jobs for many Pennsylvanians, generated large tax revenues for the community and enhanced the appearance of the neighborhoods in which he has invested.

Rick is involved extensively on a local level. He is a founder and current president of the Greater Williamsport Landlord Association (GWLA), a member of the College and Community Coalition organized by the Pennsylvania College of Technology, chairman of the Organization Committee of the Main Street project and is on the board of Our Towns 2010.

Rick is married to the former Sara M. Rider of Williamsport. They live in Williamsport with their infant son, Rocco, and are members of St. Boniface Church.
