Biography
Rep. John Hornaman has been a resident of Millcreek Township since 1952. After graduating from McDowell High school, he attended Gannon University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics. He also spent much of his time in advanced ROTC activities, as a member of Raider Company and Scabbard and Blade Honorary Military Fraternity. He was designated a Distinguished Military Student at graduation.
As an officer in the U.S. Army, he served as both a platoon leader in Korea, and an infantry training officer at Ft. Jackson.
Prior to his first election to office in 2006, John operated a successful small business for 30 years. As an active church member, he has headed the Building and Grounds Committee, as well as serving on the governing board of the church. He is a fiscal conservative with pro-life and pro-second amendment values.
While serving in Harrisburg, John has championed common-sense policies aimed at boosting the local economy while preparing Pennsylvania for the 21st Century. He has worked to promote the causes of alternative energy, the Kanzius Cancer Research, providing assistance to volunteer fire departments, and governmental reform like the new Open Records Law.
John shares the same values and priorities as his constituents. He is working hard at attracting new high-tech industries to Erie County, as well as keeping our existing businesses there, so that the local economy will prosper, creating jobs that support our families.
For 42 years, John has been married to his college sweetheart, JoAnn Feidler-Hornaman. They have two wonderful daughters, Dr. Pamela Tronetti and Amelia Hornaman, as well as three beautiful grandchildren.
