Rep. Jaret Gibbons

District 10

Biography

Representative Jaret Gibbons was born and raised in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, a small town in Lawrence County. There Jaret learned  the values of hard work and perseverance from his father, Ralph, who worked in the steel mills until he was stricken with cancer and died in 1992, and from his mother, Carol, who runs a hair salon out of the family home and worked various odd jobs. Working together with his mother to keep up the family home after his father’s passing, Jaret developed his strong belief that all people deserve an equal opportunity to succeed and be heard.

In 2006, Jaret took this commitment into politics to bring a new, young voice to the Pennsylvania House of Representative for the people of his community. He ran for the State House and won, defeating a long-time incumbent. Jaret has dedicated his career to working for families and children just like the ones he grew up with in Ellwood City. His passionate advocacy for people like the folks who worked in the mill with his father has earned him respect and appreciation in his hometown community.

Gibbons' government and legal experiences prepared him to handle the task of representing the 10th legislative district. As an undergraduate, he worked with the Pennsylvania Department of State's Bureau of Elections, as well as in the district office of a state senator and municipal government in Allegheny County. He later worked for several law firms in the Pittsburgh region.

Jaret and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Franklin Township, Beaver County, with their daughter, Annabella, and two c oonhound dogs, Max and Bentley. He is active in his community as a member of the Ellwood Wampum Rod & Gun Club, National Rifle Association, Slippery Rock Sportsmen’s Club, People Concerned for the Unborn Child, Ellwood City Lodge F. & A. M., Wolves, Elks, Moose, Sons of Italy, Ellwood City Historical Society and the American, Pennsylvania, and Beaver County Bar Associations, as well as a parishioner at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Parish where he serves as an usher and member of the Knights of Columbus
